Presenter Bio: Ryan Snyder owns a new-urbanist transportation planning firm that prepares pedestrian plans, bicycle plans, transit service plans, ridesharing plans and transportation components of smart growth development plans. Snyder teaches the national Federal Highway Administration pedestrian safety design workshops as well as the National Safe Routes to School workshops. He has prepared pedestrian master plans for the cities of West Hollywood, Santa Barbara, Riverside, Burbank and more, as well as bicycle master plans for some 70 jurisdictions including the cities of San Diego, Long Beach, Anaheim, and Santa Monica. Snyder has conducted Safe Routes to School planning for numerous California cities. He has written approximately 15 successful SRTS applications that have brought in over $7 million for cities and counties. He formerly served as Vice President of the Los Angeles Board of Transportation Commissioners. Snyder holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from UCLA.
