Summary:
Join us in a discussion about community based responses to the affordable housing crisis in Los Angeles. Learn the basics behind the community land trust (CLT) model as a method of establishing permanent affordable housing for low and median income residents. Find how this model is implemented locally as a community based method of achieving economic and environmental sustainability by two CLTs in Los Angeles; the Figueroa Corridor Community Land Trust and the Beverly Vermont Community Land Trust.

Presenters:
Helen Campbell (MAUP 07) is a founding board member of the Beverly Vermont Community Land Trust and is currently a Planning and Policy Analyst at the Healthy Homes Collaborative.

Tafari Bayne is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Figueroa Corridor Community Land Trust and a community activist in South Los Angeles.

Alina Bokde is the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust in Los Angeles, and is the former director of the Figueroa Corridor Community Land Trust.
