LA StreetSummit 2010 is honored to have Carl Anthony as a featured speaker of this year's event. Carl is a seminal figure in the environmental justice movement and founder of Breakthrough Communities. While working as executive director at Urban Habitat, Carl pioneered the concept of promoting multicultural urban environmental leadership to grow sustainable, socially just communities, with the majority of his work based in the San Francisco Bay Area. His work has also included a position as Director of the Ford Foundation’s Sustainable Metropolitan Communities Initiative. He has been a publisher and editor--of the the Race, Poverty and Environment Journal, the only environmental justice periodical in the country--as well as a scholar at numerous institutions, from the University of California, Berkeley to Harvard and Columbia Universities. |
