Planning for a Cooler CaliforniaThis is a featured page

Description:
  • Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) are public agencies responsible for transportation planning in urbanized areas throughout the United States. The City of Los Angeles is part of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). SCAG is currently working on the implementation of SB 375 in the 2012 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). The RTP is a long range-planning document (20+ year horizon) that recommends plans and policies to highways, transit, bicycling and pedestrian facilitates, and to meet the transportation needs of the region.Public involvement is key and federally mandated in the development of regional transportation plans. Understanding the process and where to effectively comment and voice your ideas and concerns can often be a challenging process at the regional level. Currently the Climate Plan and the Safe Routes to School National Partnership are working together in the SCAG region to create a regional network of interested stakeholders on this issue, this panel would be an opportunity to let those interested become aware of this network and resource.
